Sto. Niño is a Roman Catholic title of Jesus Christ associated with religious vested statue of the infant Child Jesus venerated by many Filipino Catholics who believe it to be miraculous.
It is the oldest religious Christian image in the Philippines.
An annual religious and cultural festival called Sinulog is celebrated on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City and is the center of the Sto. Niño celebration in the Philippines. The Sinulog commemorates the Filipino people’s acceptance of Christianity (specifically, Roman Catholicism)
and their rejection of their former animist beliefs.
